Two of the most useful verbs are about eating and drinking.
吃 (chī): to eat
吃饭 (chī fàn): to eat a meal (rice/food)
喝 (hē): to drink
喝水 (hē shuǐ): to drink water
喝茶 (hē chá): to drink tea
You can use them with 吗 (ma) to ask a question: 你吃饭吗?(Nǐ chī fàn ma?) - Are you going to eat?
